In 1981 the Oneida cutlery company bought Old Hall. They owned it for just 3 years. The Alveston range designed by Robert Welch in the 60s became part of Oneida's line and this set is marked Oneida. It was purchased in Selfridges in the early 1980s (by us!). The dimensions and weight seem to be in line with the original design (some of the current range is slightly bigger I believe). I think we bought it as satin back in the day but years of use has given it a bit of a shine. There are signs of age and use such as scratches and the odd surface mark. Please see our other listing for the matching salad servers.
The set comprises (may differ by a mm)
4 dinner knives 22cm
4 dinner forks 20cm
4 side knives 19.5cm
4 side forks 18.5cm
4 soup spoons 19.3cm
4 dessert spoons 19.2cm
4 teaspoons 13.3cm
